It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has won it all.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if not provided the possibility.

Finally, the result of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to create her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her bow and seven global championships have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort is debatable.

Many contend the reasoning behind final game tension. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it was a disappointing period because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever," commented Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit take over and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her great strength - and a priceless quality in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from that point Healy was on her way.

"A chance to play and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

When she was removed her side needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we are confident we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this World Cup need to hear.

During the last week a belief they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this triumph coming after win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wished she had played through the pain.

But while she afterwards confessed those injuries have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as captain.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
